We had another great turn-out of riders at this year’s brilliant Glentress 7. The race course is a mix of purpose-built trail and ‘natural stuff’ and is well worth doing if you like your endurance racing to be hard and technical.
Andy and Budge did well in the pairs –
“Great course. Loads of climbing, technical, rooty, dusty and flipping fantastic. Smashed it round in a pair with Andy for 6th place in the old gits category. Definitely back next year. – Budge
Keith had a good one in the pairs too – “Entered pairs aiming to do 8 Laps. 7 mile course which had 4 miles of climbing & 3 miles of technical descents. Fell off 3 times but loved it -”
And our soloists…
“Managed to beat last year’s 8 laps with a combination of steady climbing and lunatic descending. Never have I collided with so many trees.” – Daz
“Entry via waiting list which I’d completely forgotten I’d put my name on, until email arrived, enjoyed course (mostly), would love to do again.”- Sally
“Was toying with the idea of doing it like last year SS rigid 9 laps done, but the wife wouldn’t let me this year after me complaining about my arms and wrists taking a pounding, gears and suspension this year and couldn’t finish, wrist taken a pounding again, pulled out sitting 6th with 8 laps at the time… was she right, who knows ???” – Jock
“I had a new bike. I didn’t want to get it scratched so was deliberately slow. Honest.” – Jase.
