Phil won the Highland Trail a couple of weeks ago. It took him over four days to reach the finish line because it was more than 570 miles of hard offroad cycling in the Scottish Highlands. He’s only recently stopped eating for long enough to write some words for us and I’m sure that once he’s recovered a bit more he’ll share all the details. A truly epic performance.
For now, Phil writes…
The Highland Trail 550 was one hell of an adventure. I covered 573 miles with 59,000 feet of climbing in just over four days. In parts the route was brutal with lots of hike-a-bike sections but on the plus side the views were constantly amazing, there was lots of awesome singletrack ridden and there were some memorable food stops!
Body and mind are still a bit bruised, but I will pull together some words about the experience over the next few weeks .
