The Bristol Oktoberfest consists of an 8 hour mountain bike race (or one of two 4 hour races taking place at the same time), an end-of-race-season laid-back atmosphere and a Bavarian-influenced prize pot consisting mainly of beer and pretzels.
Keen to put the finishing touches to his training and preparation for the final 24 hour solo race of the year, Jason was racing in the 8 hour solo event and while he had one eye on the next race, a podium prize consisting of German beer and pastry products was evidently too tempting – he rode hard and finished in 3rd place overall and won the veteran category.
Next weekend, Jason will race solo in the Relentless 24 hour event in Fort William, Scotland.
Relentless is a regular event for Team JMC – this year Jason will be joined by Jacqui and Phil Simcock who will both be racing in the mixed pairs category. Keep your eyes on this site for an update on how they all got on!
