On Sunday July 22nd 2012 Bolton once again plays host to the longest of all Triathlon Distance events – Ironman UK. Having been inspired by the challenge, my aim is to finish the 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and 26 mile run under the 17 hour cut off time.
Although this is a personal challenge which I have been working towards for many years, I am keen to raise as much money as possible for this year’s Team JMC chosen charity – www.medequip4kids.org.uk. As a company, we have an ambitious fund raising target of buying a local hospital a complete ‘baby pod’, a critical piece of equipment for saving young lives. As part of our combined fundraising activities I would like to make a notable dent in our overall annual target figure of £8000. If you feel generous enough to donate any amount to this worthwhile cause I would be very grateful for your support: www.justgiving.com/trimanfish
My training and race progress on the 22nd July will be broadcast live by my wife and son support crew (Karen & Sebastian) via Twitter @trimanfish. Coverage is also broadcast live on http://ironmanlive.com and covered by Channel 4 a few weeks after the event. Spectator support on the day much appreciated!
