A new boy at JMC joining in March 2014. I have not found a sport I don’t like yet but 2014 is all about the marathon for me, having done three marathons I think I can do better than my previous best of approximately 3:26:43.
Now a few weeks away from the Edinburgh Marathon with a few shorter distance PB’s under my belt this year I’m pretty confident I can do 3:15 but not sure if I have done enough miles to dip under my original aim of 3hrs. Hey ho there’s always next year!
I won’t waste the training after Edinburgh, I’ll take part in fell races in the Peak District and around my native Glossop most weekends through the summer.
A roadie – I will be cycling to the office at JMC when I can and I’ll be found taking on a few local ten mile time trials and the odd Sportive this summer. My first taste of mountain biking behind the JMC offices was fun and this could be my next sport.
Cricket retirement this year lasted until the first weekend in May when the call was too tempting!
I am excited to be marrying my long suffering sports widow Sherri in August. With a new job at a fantastic company, a wedding and a potential PB marathon 2014 is shaping up to be a great year for me.
