There’s loads yet to come in 2016 for Team JMC – here are a few of the things we’re looking forward to….
The Mary Townley Loop Challenge next weekend – a local event, pretty tough and all in aid of our local Mountain Rescue Team.
After a few weeks of getting some consistent training in and spending time with the kids while they’re off school, Revolve24 is next – a 24 hour race at Brands Hatch. It’s a Race Across America (RAAM) qualifier so who knows what that will lead to. After that I’m in 20:12, a 12 hour MTB race at Hadleigh Park, then some local cyclocross races, something “quite special” that involves sleeping outside again and then the main event, the UK 24 Hour Champs in Fort William. Then I get to do it all over again at the Strathpuffer, which I said I’d never do again. Oh well….
I’ve just got back from the 10@Kirroughtree race, but up next is the Keilder 101 – a 101km lap in Kielder Forest, Northumberland. Forest roads, single track and the man-made trails of Kielder and Newcastleton. After that the Tour of Tweedale – a 100 mile sportive around the Scottish Borders. After that it’s Relentless 24 – A 24hr solo MTB race at Fort William.
Fixing my thumb then doing the 3 Peaks Cyclocross.
I’m in Italy right now heading to Austria on Friday to compete in the Ironman 70.3 triathlon, although I’m still nursing a broken foot so gonna try and have a fast swim and smash the bike course, then pull out and eat ice cream! Had to cancel Ironman Weymouth so if the weather is ok I might be tempted to do the MTB Ruthin Marathon. After that going to do a couple of road races then hopefully 2 Duathlons before winter.
My big race is the 3 Peaks Cyclocross at end of September. Will also be doing some of the North West Cyclocross League races, some fell races and the Illuminator night race in October in Scotland.
One more time trial for me this weekend, then nothing planned. Need to get get fit again. Possibly the Delamere 10k night run and a couple of other local runs.
Relentless 24 hour solo and then Strathpuffer 24hour solo.
